Biography: Suzuki & Friends

Presented by Cathedral Arts, Inc., the Suzuki & Friends chamber music series has become the State of Indiana's flagship chamber music ensemble, winning new audiences to its novel performances. Under the artistic direction of Hidetaro Suzuki, former concertmaster of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and his wife, pianist Zeyda Ruga Suzuki, the series features chamber music repertoire with special emphasis on the violin and piano repertory of the 20th century. National and regional artists of distinction join the Suzukis in performances of both well-known and rarely performed masterworks. James Aikman's Sonata No. 2 for Violin and Piano was commissioned by Cathedral Arts, Inc. especially for the Suzukis.
